Tortoise- God Vishnu assumed the form of a gigantic tortoise in order to support Mount Mandra and prevent it from sinking- while it was being rotated by gods and demons in their attempt to churn the ocean of milk and obtain nectar out of it .
Tretayug- Span of life-duration-12, 96,000 years.
Trijata- A demon.
Trinity - Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Tirthraj - Prayagraj.
Tirhutraj - King Janak.
Triveni - Where rivers Ganga,Yamuna and Sarswati meet i.e. Prayag.
Trijata- A demoness - companion of Sita in Lanka.
Trikoot - A three peaked Mountain in the middle of the ocean - fortress built by Brahma- it was guarded by the ten million guards of Kubera. Ravana besieged and made it his capital.
Tripurasur - A demon killed by Shambhu.
Trishanku - Father of Harishander.
Trishira- Son of Ravana with three heads- brother of Khar and Dushsan- killed by Rama.
Tulsidas
A Writer of Ramcharitmanas in Avadhi Language. He was born in Shravan Shukla Saptmi in samvat 1554 in Banda district of Prayag in Rajapur village. His father was Atmaram Dubey and mother Hulsi. At the time of birth he had all thirty-two teeth. After three days his mother sent him to her in-laws thinking him to be a boy of bad luck. Next day she died also. When he was five years old his guardian Chunia also died.
Shrinarharyananda took him to Ayodhya and named him Rambola. Tulsidas studied Vedas for fifteen years and went to Kashi and then came back to his birthplace and married in samvat 1583. He loved his wife too much. Once she went to her parent’s home. Tulsidas followed her . She did not like that and scolded Tulsidas. Tulsidas came to Prayag. And started living like a sadhu. Then he went to Kashi and had a darshan of Kakbhushundi.
In samvat 1631 on Ramnavmi day Tulsidas started writing Ramcharitmanas. He completed it in two years seven months and twenty-six days. In samvat 1633 he completed all the seven Kands (chapters) on Ramvivah’s day . He released it on the Ninth day of Chaitra on Tuesday .
He started living at Asi Ghat. He died on Saturday in 1680 Shravan Krishna tritiya i.e third day of Shravan.

Valmiki
He was the son of Pracheta. He was a highway robber in his earlier life and was known by the name of Ratnakara. Seven seers awakened him and instructed him in the holy name of Rama . Unable to utter, seers asked him to utter the name in the reverse order. Ultimately he turned out to be a pious sage and related the story of Sri Rama before his advent. While roaming he saw a pair of pigeons dying. He was disturbed too much. This incident influenced him to write the story of Ramayana. He wrote in Sanskrit in poetry. He is known as the first poet of the world. He had ashram in Chitrakut. Sita lived there after she was renounced by Rama and gave birth to twins i.e. Luv and Kush.
Vaishravan - Kuber.
Vaisya- A farmer or merchant - the third Vedic social order, Member of the trading class.
Vaitarni - Other name of Ganga- a river in hell-which the dead have to cross before entering the infernal regions- to cross before reaching heaven.
Vaman - The divine Dwarf-One of the ten Avtars of God- younger brother of Indra-Kept his one foot on Somnas and second foot on Meru Parbat and third foot kept on the head of King Bali- grew to an indescribable size.
Vamdev - A sage like Vasistha ( chief of the sages ).
Vanar- Monkey.
Vanaraj - King of Forest i.e. Vali or Sugriva.
Vanarshromani - Hanuman.
Vanaryuthpati - Hanuman.
Vani ( H )- Goddess of Speech.
Vanrajpuri- Kishikandha place of Vali.
Varah - Incarnation of Vishnu killed Hiranaksh- son of Diti.

Vasishta - A sage- Son of Manu- born out of the pitcher,-A Guru of King Dashratha and teacher of his sons-wife Arundhanti- Did the coronation of Rama after the exile.

Vedas- Books about knowledge- first spoken by the Lord Himself- Four Vedas -The four original revealed Scriptures :-Rg , Atharv, Sam and Yajur- Even people call Shrimadbhagvat as Fifth Veda-Vedvyas put the Ved in writing for the people.
Vedvyas - A sage- son of sage Parashar and Satyavati - Compiled Four Vedas, Puran and Mahabharata at the end of Dvapura-yug.
Vibhishan- Son of Kaiksi and Pulastya- did penance and asked for a boon for pure love for the lotus feet - Brother of Ravana- married Sarma-Expelled by Ravana - joined Rama- - helped Rama in killing Ravana-cremated Ravana- throne the king of Lanka after Ravana.
Videh - King Janak. Videhnandini- Sita.
Vidujinh - Husband of Shurpnakha- killed by Ravana.
Vijay - and Jai (brothers )-Gatekeeper of Shrihari- cursed Sankadi reborn as Hiranaykashpu and Hirnayksh and killed by incarnation of Boar and Narsinmh respectively and reborn as Ravana and Kumbhkaran.
Vijay Dashmi- The day Rama killed Ravana.
Vinata - Brought winged creation- son Garuda.
Vinayak- Ganesh. Viranchi- Brahma, the Creator.
Viradh- A demon son of Jav and Shathrida and killed by Rama .
Virbhadra- Gan of Shiva - sent to destroy the yagna of Daksha the father of Sati.
Vishwakarma- The chief of heavenly architects -Built Lanka .
Vishvamohini- Daughter of kink- Sheelnidhi- enamoured Narada.
Vishwanath- Shankar.
Vishrva - Son of Pulastya-married the daughter of Bhardwaj.
Vasant - King of all seasons.
Vishnu- God with four arms, Protector of the universe, sleeps on the ocean of milk on the bed of Sheshnag- younger brother of Indra .
Vishrava- Maternal Grandfather of Ravana- Kumbhkarna and Vibhishan.
Vishwamitra- Son of Gadhi- a sage who took Rama and Laxman to Mithilapuri i. e Janakpuri.
Vrishab - Bull- chariot of Shiva- son of Surabhidevi.
Vrishketu- Shiva who has a bull emblazed on his standard .
Vritrasura - Killed by Indra. Vulture- Jatayu- its range of sight is unlimited.
