Chakaravaka-A bird-feels uneasy at everytime evening.
Chakora-Said to feed on moonbeans and supposed to be particularly enamourned of the moon.
Chaturbhuj- A person with four hands.
Chitrakoot- Being a peak of the Vindhya mountains-hill near Ganga. A place near Prayag-Valmiki had Ashram there.
Chudamani-An ornament of the head.
Churning - Manthan of the Ocean of Milk-with the joint labour Demons and Demi-gods.
Fourteen jewels came out:-
Dhanvantri Vaidya, Airavat (elephant of Indra ), Kalpvriksh, Kamdhenu cow, Kostubh mani ( Vishnu ), Lakshmi (Vishnu ), Moon, Nectar (Demi-gods ), Poison ( Shiva ), Varuni (Apsara),Wine, Precious Jewels,Gems,
Uchhaishrva ( horse ) .
Conciousness- Four states:
1.Waking 2. dream 3. sound sleep 4. absorption into Brahma.
Creator- Brahma.
Crow- Blessed by Rama to be healthy always- no fear of death- is given the food by people for their departed souls.
Cupid- God of Love- armed with five arrows and having a fish
emblazoned on his standard.

Dadhichi - A sage who offered his bones to be used as weapon to kill the demon Vrtra.
Daityas- The offsprings of Diti and Kashyap.
Daksh- Son of Brahma-father of Sati,- was made chief of Prajapati- cursed Narada not to stay at one place
Dandak - Forest, Rama, Sita and Laxman lived during their exile.
Das Dishanye - Guardians of ten quarters of the world are:
1. East-Indra ( the lord of celestials ) ; 2. South-East-Agni ( fire-god )
3. South- Yama ( the god disperising the fruit of one’s good for evil actions )
4. South-West- Nirvti ( the god of death ); 5. West-Varuna ( the god of water ); 6. North-west- Vayu ( the wind god );
7. North- ( Kubera - the god of riches ); 8. North-East- Isana ( Shiva );
9. The Upper Region- Brahma the Creator;
10. The Lower Region- Ananta ( The Serpent –god ).
Dashrath- King of Ayodhya - had three queens, Kaushalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi and four sons, Rama, Bharat , Lakshman and Shatrughan- died due to Rama’s exile.
Other names:-Avadh Naresh, Kosladeesh, Kausalraj.
Dash Avtar- Ten Incarnations of Vishnu: –Fish,Tortoise, Boar,
Nrisimh -half lion and half man, Vaman, Parshuram, Rama, Krishan, Buddha and Kalki.
Dashgriv- A person with ten necks i.e Ravana.
Dashmi -Tenth day .
Dashsheesh -Ten-headed Ravana. Daskandhar-Ten-shouldered Ravana.
Demons - Feasted on buffalows, human beings, cows, donkeys & Goats.
Demigods- Personalities residing in the higher planets, principal among whom are assigned by the Sureme Lord to oversee the affairs of the universe.
Devayani- Daughter of Sukracharya. Devguru- Brihaspati.
Devhooti- Daughter of Manu married to Kardam- mother of sage Kapil who compiled Sankhyashastra.
Devotees- Four :
1.Aarat-Arta ( the afflicted ) ; 2 . Jigyasu ( the seeker of Truth );
3. Arthatrhi ( the seeker of worldly riches ); 4, Gyani ( the Enlightened ).
Devotion- Nine Forms:
1. Fellowship with the saints,
2. Fondness for Lord’s stories,
3. Humble service of the lotus feet,
4. Singing praises with a guileless purpose,
5. Muttering Lord’s name,
6. Practice of self control and virtue ,
7. See the world full of Lord,
8. Content with whatever one gets ,
9. One should be guileless and straight in one’s dealings with everybody.
Devrishi- Narda
Dhanvantri- Doctor of Medicine.
Dhanyamalini- A Wife of Ravana- mother of Atikaya.
Dharmruchi- A Minister of Pratapbhanu,- reborn as Vibhishan i.e
Brother of Ravana.
Dhruva-Son of Uttanpad.
Diti- Wife of Prajapati Kashyap and gave birth to demons.
Divid - And Maind Maternal uncle of Angad.
Dundubhi - A demon son of Hema the heaven dancer- younger brother demon Mayavi, slain by Vali.
Durga -The personified material energy of the Lord -Wife of Shiva.
Durvasa -Believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva and noted for his irascible nature.
Dushan - Cousin of Ravna- brother of Khar and Trishira- killed by Rama.
Dwaparyug - Third age consists of 8,64,000 years span of life of the universe-duration.
E
Ekadasi- A special day which comes on the eleventh day of both the waxing and waning moon.
Error- Three: Thought, word, deed.
Exile - Rama was sent to Dandak forest for fourteen years by his Step-mother Kakaiya- crossed Tamsa, Gomti, Sai,Triveni i.e Conflurnce of Ganga,Yamuna and Saraswati.

Food- Four Types of Food:
1. Which can be directly swallowed ;
2.Which must be masticated before it can be gulped,
3.Which can be licked with the tongue,
4. Which can be sucked.

Galav - A pupil of sage Viswamitra - As a dakshina he brought a
thousand snow-white horses with dark ears.
Gandharvas- Celestial singers sing very beautifully.
Ganesh - Son of God Shiva and Parvati-elephant-headed and Brother of Kartikey- god of wisdom- lord of frutuity who provides fame, and fortune- lord of successful beginnings and the destroyer of obstacles of both material and spiritual order- happens to be the first god to be worshipped at every occasion, ceremoney or rite.
Other names: Gana Nayak,Vinayak.
Ganga - India’s most sacred river,-Mandakini.
Garud - King of birds- eats Snakes-went to Narada to listen Rama’s story- Narada sent him to Brahma- Brahma sent Him to Mahadev- Mahadev sent him to Kakbhushundi -Kakbhushundi narrated Him the story- carrier of Vishnu.
Gautam- A sage cursed his wife to be a stone.
Geedhraj-Jatayu- the king of vulture.
Gems - Came out by churning of the Ocean.

Gomti - A river in Uttar Pradesh. Goswami Tulsidas- Writer of Ramcharitmanas.
Grirajkumari - Parvati.
Gridhraj - Jatayu.
